The DeKalb Medical Comprehensive Wound Care Center provides specialized treatment for chronic or non-healing wounds. These types of wounds can be caused by diabetes, vascular disease (arterial, venous, lymphatic, vasculitis), radiation therapy, surgery, trauma, burns or pressure.
If you have a wound that won’t heal, you are not alone. Approximately 7 million Americans suffer from this condition. Most physicians' offices are not equipped to treat problem wounds and perform wound care procedures; however, chronic non-healing wounds may result in life-threatening infections, amputation or debilitating health problems.
At the DeKalb Medical Comprehensive Wound Care Center, our goal is not only to heal chronic wounds but also to preserve limbs and prevent wound recurrence. We use the most advanced wound care procedures available, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy, to heal chronic wounds, reduce suffering and improve quality of life. Care is supervised by board-certified infectious disease specialists and nurses specifically trained in wound care procedures and management.
