Maternity services are offered at both the DeKalb Medical at North Decatur campus in Decatur and the DeKalb Medical at Hillandale campus in Lithonia.
DeKalb Medical at North Decatur
The Maternity Center at our North Decatur Road Campus is among the largest maternity services in the state, welcoming more than 5,800 newborns a year. From high-risk pregnancies and multiple births to our neonatal intensive care unit, which is the second largest in Georgia, we have the technology and specialized services to meet each individual need. In addition, the beautiful Craftsman-style surroundings complete with amenities such as the business center, The Azalea Bistro, and the Mother Baby Boutique and Lactation Center, make it a wonderful setting for this important time in your life.
Doctors throughout the Southeast refer high-risk patients to us because we are one of the few hospitals in Georgia to have on our staff perinatologists and obstetricians who specialize in maternal-fetal medicine. We also have a 22-bed Antepartum Unit for women with high-risk pregnancies who require hospitalization before delivery, and a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit for critically ill newborns. Our 18 Labor/Delivery/Recovery suites allow moms to labor, deliver and recover in comfortable surroundings.

That’s why we are dedicated to giving expectant moms as much freedom as possible during labor and delivery.
More importantly, we have the right people – a team of highly specialized and dedicated professionals working together for our mothers and babies– to ensure that each birth is a positive experience for mother and baby.
DeKalb Medical at Hillandale
At our Hillandale campus in Lithonia, expectant mothers find new large, comfortable rooms equipped with the latest technology. There are five rooms for expectant women who require hospitalization before delivery, six obstetrical assessment rooms, eight Labor/Delivery/Recovery rooms and our 10-bed Special Care Nursery.
After delivery, mothers and their babies rest and get to know each other on the uniquely designed Mother/Baby Unit, including 25 Mother/Baby rooms. The reception area features a large window to the well baby nursery so that visitors may view babies when they aren't in the room with mom. A special lactation room and experienced educational consultants are available to support breastfeeding mothers while they are in the hospital.

Your baby is beautiful! Why not share her photo with your friends and family right away?
At DeKalb Medical, you can take your new baby’s photo at our baby kiosk or with your own digital camera, and immediately upload her photo to a special website that allows you to create photo albums to share with your family and friends. You can also print professional quality portraits of your baby, so you can have a copy for your wallet right away.

Our baby kiosks can be found on the third and fourth floors of the Women’s Center and the second floor NICU of DeKalb Medical at North Decatur. Another baby kiosk is available on the third floor of DeKalb Medical at Hillandale.
