DeKalb Medical Radiology Training and Program in Atlanta

DeKalb Medical School of Radiologic Technology

DeKalb Medical’s School of Radiologic Technology offers a 24-month, 40-hour-per-week, full-time certification program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT). For more than 45 years, our competency-based clinical radiology program has allowed students to receive both classroom and clinical instruction, which are required for graduation by the JRCERT.

A radiologic technologist is an allied health professional who completes radiology training to obtain medical images for interpretation by a radiologist, assists the physician and provides patient care. Completion of our radiology program can lead to employment opportunities as a registered radiologic technologist in a hospital, physician office, public health office, industry or government agency.

Radiology training in Atlanta at DeKalb Medical gives students access to the latest available knowledge, skills and equipment. As part of a hospital team with a reputation for excellence in medical care, our radiology program graduates are assets to their profession. After successful completion of the radiology training program, students are eligible to take the national American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) exam. Upon completing the radiology program and passing the exam, the graduate becomes a registered radiologic technologist (radiographer), or R.T. (R).

Our radiology training program boasts an ARRT examination pass rate of 95 percent on the first attempt and 100 percent of program graduates seeking employment will find employment within six months from the date of graduation. We have a retention rate, graduation rate and radiology program completion rate of 75 percent.
